Zedd Recruits Sia, Camila Cabello, Grimes, and Macklemore for Anti Immigration Ban Event
He revealed his “true colors” via the release of the 2015 eponymous album “True Colors,” yet Russian/German DJ, Zedd, once again shows his brilliant kaleidoscope of shades, hues colored by his sense of humanity.
While various celebrities and public figured expressed their discontent with President Donald Trump’s “anti Muslim” ban on immigration to the U.S.—a ban that failed due to the political activism of ACLU, the American Civil Liberties Union—Zedd was noticeably outspoken in his distaste for the ban. With music the medium of choice for Zedd in his rally of support for ACLU, the “Clarity” producer enlisted the talent of Sia, Camila Cabello, Grimes, and Macklemore in a tweet that appears below, a request for the artists to combine to play a concert in ACLU’s honor. ACLU identifies itself as a “nonprofit, nonpartisan, legal and advocacy organization devoted to protecting the basic civil liberties of everyone in America."
While the status of the show and the solicited artists’ level of cooperation is currently unknown, Zedd vowed to bring the benefit event to fruition in a response to Your EDM on Twitter. Zedd notes that he himself is an immigrant “currently in America on a VISA,” a situation that places the multitalented DJ in a direct position of empathy for those affected by the ban.
