Zedd Unveils Phase Two of ACLU Benefit Concert, "Welcome"

Russian/German EDM DJ, Zedd, has quite the pull in the dance music social sphere.

Inflamed by the action recently taken by President Donald J. Trump to bar immigrants entering the United States from seven “Muslim” countries for a ninety-day period, Zedd, an “immigrant” himself, vowed to lead the coordination of a benefit concert whose proceeds would serve as direct donations to the ACLU. The ACLU, short for “The American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey,” identifies as a “non-profit organization” that functions “to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in the U.S.”

The ACLU saw a surge in donations following the announcement of the travel ban, but will witness a massive intake of funds following the Zedd led benefit concert, an event scheduled for April 3rd, appropriately titled “Welcome.” As expressed by the concert’s name, the event seeks to promote equality and acceptance regardless of ethnicity, race, country of origin, sexual orientation etc; all are welcome at the “Clarity” producer’s event.

Hosted at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Welcome unveiled a lineup of powerhouse performers for its phase one announcement, a stage in the lineup’s development that named Halsey, Skrillex, Macklemore, Imagine Dragons, Tinashe, Camila Cabello, and Daya. Zedd has followed up the initial lineup reveal with phase two, the phase to complete Welcome’s lineup. Among the names of phase two are Bebe Rexha, Machine Gun Kelly, Mija, Incubus, and Miguel, an impressive grouping of prominent artists across various genres of music.

Tickets to Welcome bear a steeper price tag than an average event, yet Welcome is far from an “average event”; complete with a lineup more diverse than most, and with a purpose to benefit an admirable organization via the monies generated from ticket sales, to attend Welcome is to support a worthy cause. Tickets to the event may be purchased below.
