Zedd and Alessia Cara Join Forces for New Single, "Stay"

Zedd has confirmed that his music engineering abilities indeed lay on a dance music spectrum, digressing from his previous complex electro take on the DJ Snake/Justin Bieber collab, “Let Me Love You,” to a radio friendly new pop project with “Scars to Your Beautiful” vocalist, Alessia Cara.

Titled “Stay,” the new Zedd/Cara single dropped a day early on February 23rd, the track having been teased in between commercials that aired during the TV breaks of Alessia Cara’s February 4th Saturday Night Live performance.

Cara’s vocals assume more of a pop style than on previous tracks “Scars to Your Beautiful,” or “Here,” a newer aesthetic that proves flattering as Cara glides over lyrics to gracefully reach the song’s higher notes with ease. Defined by an undeniably catchy beat—a hallmark of each single crafted by Zedd, it seems— “Stay” is positioned to enjoy commercial radio success, given the song’s adoption of the “pop drop” made popular by The Chainsmokers in their chart smashing single, “Stay.” The latest Zedd offering likewise promises to be a ready addition to Zedd’s festival season sets, the DJ slated to appear at March’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami, and the April “Welcome” festival at the LA Staples Center, a benefit concert spearheaded by the Russian/German producer.

When it comes to the charts, it’s more than fair to predict that’s where the new Zedd/Cara single will “Stay.”
