Ultra Music Festival to Expand to Australia, China, India
Fresh off of its nineteenth iteration, Miami resident, Ultra Music Festival, will set its sights on its twentieth anniversary, a landmark celebration slated for March 23rd-25th, 2018. But UMF Miami’s birthday bash is only one exciting event of many for the festival brand, a flagship that has steadily grown its international reputation in years past, and continues to expand now via the announcement of new locations to be inhabited by the festival.
Among the exclusive destinations to be added to the Ultra calendar are Australia, China, and India, spots that in their addition, render the festival “the world’s most international, independent music festival brand.” The inaugural edition of Ultra China will debut in Shanghai on September 9-10th, an especially important event, seeing as Ultra China will emerge as the first instance “an independent and international festival brand produces an event of this magnitude in the region.”
Perhaps the largest point of expansion for the Ultra name is localized in Australia, where “full-scale festivals” will be hosted by Sydney and Melbourne in 2019. A ways off, in the meantime, “Road to Ultra” events will be scheduled in Melbourne in February of 2018. Additional Road to Ultra festivities will likewise be held in New Delhi, Mumbai, and the India Exposition Mart in India, also in February of 2018.
Ticket, venue, and lineup information remains yet to come for each of the anticipated events, but as those well versed in all things Ultra may testify, there ain’t no party like an Ultra party, meaning that the various events will be well worth the wait as Ultra continues to grow and progress.
