Kygo & Selena Gomez's "It Ain't Me" Receives Tiesto Remix, Listen Here
A contemporary—and complementary—coupling of Selena Gomez’s vocals and Kygo’s trademark tropical house vibe, the duo’s collaboration “It Ain’t Me” married two genres to constitute a radio friendly hit that would usher in the spring season with its lighthearted tone.
The track has gathered more than 214 million Spotify streams since its release weeks prior, designating the song as the “second most-streamed song in the world” according to research by Dancing Astronaut. The prominence of It Ain’t Me certainly would not be lost on industry mainstay, Tiesto—the Kygo/Gomez original receives a Tiesto branded remake on “AFTR:HRS,” a Spotify supported collection of 49 tracks, most of which are remixed by none other than the “Red Lights” producer himself.
Tiesto lends upbeat percussive elements, woven with minimalistic background horns, to the original in his re-imagination, a manipulation that elevates the single from radio favorite to dance floor potential. The remix is a tasteful take on the original, albeit a remake that notably strips the song of its more obvious tropical house inspired elements, causing the Tiesto remix to have a noticeably different feel.
