Seth Rogen is Making a Movie About A Festival Gone "HORRIBLY WRONG"
Consider the failed Fyre Festival fodder for Seth Rogen’s next comedy.
As social media reacted to attendees’ images of the folding chairs and partially furnished tents with which they were provided on their so called “luxury” getaway of a music festival, the actor took to Twitter to sound off on his latest project. “This seems like a good time to mention the movie we are making with @thelonelyisland [is] about a music festival that goes HORRIBLY WRONG.”
An American comedy trio, The Lonely Island is comprised of Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg, and Jorma Taccone. The group is notable for its role on Saturday Night Live. The Lonely Island responded to Rogen’s tweet with a saucy “For real, thinking about suing #FyreFestival for stealing our idea.”
Given Rogen’s status as a top comedian in the acting industry, the Twitter comment could very well be nothing more than a joke, but it seems likely that a failed festival movie portrayal just might be in the works. While a “horribly wrong” festival experience by our definition would include a slew of scheduling conflicts, stolen tickets, thunderstorms and the like, we’ll be waiting to see what Seth Rogen and The Lonely Island envision it to be. Our one hope? Getting tickets to the movie when it eventually screens won’t be as competitive as securing festival passes. Doubtful.
