New 6-Acre Governor's Island Venue Will Welcome Major Names in EDM This Summer
“The world’s premier dance music focused marketing and management group” founded in 2011, RPM, established by Pacha NYC owner, Eddie Dean, has had influence over a number of New York City based events—200 to be exact—with Electric Daisy Carnival at Citi Field just one of RPM’s massive event count.
RPM returns with its latest innovation in dance music event offerings, namely the introduction of a previously unused six-acre outdoor space located on Governors Island. The management company seeks to restore the vacant area with a number of stages and viewing decks, rendering the expanse what Dean calls a “one-of-a-kind venue” in a recent statement regarding the project and his expectations for its completion. “We are really excited and can’t wait to share this one-of-a-kind venue with everyone. We’re bringing in top talent with highly curated line-ups to match—and wait until you see the view.”
It’s nearly impossible not to entertain excitement at Dean’s mention of the view, a feature that will likely classify the space as a picturesque spring/summer venue. To complement the venue’s setting, RPM has already organized several headliners, including Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Tiesto, and Hardwell, heavy weights in the dance music sphere. Hardwell will perform at the venue’s inaugural show on Saturday, June 17th.
