Eric Prydz Just Announced a Career Milestone, His First Ibiza Residency
An industry icon, one would think “Opus” mastermind, Eric Prydz has by now done all there is to do within the dance music sphere, and in light of recent news, would be correct in thinking so. In many ways a pioneer of the techno/progressive house genres, Prydz has reached yet another career milestone via the cementation of his inaugural Ibiza residency at “Hi,” the Playa d’en Bossa club that once bore designation as “Space Ibiza.” The club has since been renamed and is slated to reopen under its new header on May 28th.
The Prydz residency will be a transition among the “Lillo” producer’s other aliases—Cirez D and Pryda—a variation of aesthetic approach that will render each performance one of its own kind, a repetitive or even monotonous quality of the Ibiza residency hardly a possibility. Hi Ibiza notes in its announcement of the Prydz residency that it has offered the Prydz camp a “blank canvas to work their magic,” a liberty of production that will result in the creation of a stage specifically for Prydz’s residency.
Prydz will become a Tuesday staple of Hi from Tuesday, June 20th to Tuesday, August 22nd, a near three-month window in which Prydz enthusiasts might find their time—and their money—best spent in the arrangement of a trip to White Isle. A listing of Prydz's performance dates appears via the link below.
