New Event Alert: Nora En Pure to Play Central Lounge Friday, Jan 20th
While it may only be Monday, we’re self admittedly working for the weekend as Nora En Pure’s debut at Central Lounge in Astoria Friday, January 27th approaches.
Having newly wrapped up her “Tell My Heart Tour,” a 2016 initiative spanning forty show dates in cities all around the world, ranging from New York to Cape Town to Trancoso in Brazil, Nora En Pure returns from the international affair to New York City, to visit Central Lounge at its home of 20-30 Steinway Street.
Nora’s January 27th appearance represents a shift in the stylistics of talent provided by the lounge; Central has recently hosted progressive house DJ, EDX, and tribal/funk/house producer, Robbie Rivera. Central proclaims its ability to procure the premiere and most diverse acts—especially with regard to house music manufacturers—via its booking, as Nora’s musical interests center around the indie dance, deep, and tech house genres, a combination that is as intriguing as it is unusual. Distinguished by this distinct grouping and interweaving of genres in her productions, the Swiss DJ/producer has steadily attracted the attention of industry greats and dance music enthusiasts alike.
At the heart of Nora’s music is a deeply ingrained passion for the craft of electronic dance music. Born into and subsequently raised in a musically influenced environment, production emerged as a natural path for the 26-year-old. In a 2008 interview Nora emphasizes her passion for engineering electronic dance music, an ardor whose roots lay in the genre’s versatility. “I was fascinated by how creative you can be with electronic music,” Nora mused, “you can try out whatever you want.” Indeed, Nora has explored the corners of the genres in which she works, producing tracks that are duly innovative and edgy in their construction, never “playing it safe,” but rather frequently “pushing the envelope.”
Nora is perhaps best recognized for her 2013 release, “Come With Me,” a sultry, slow track that features a crooning vocal track advising the listener to do what is advertised by the title. Those unfamiliar with Nora’s suave sound may preview what is to come via her SoundCloud based radio show, “Purified Radio.”
Admission for the January 27th show is free pending RSVP. Those interested may RSVP to claim their free ticket to the event at the link provided below. Support for the event will be provided by Jus Jack.
As Nora En Pure prepares to play the Cali based Coachella festival on Friday, April 21st—an appearance that will only further drive Nora’s popularity within dance music—catch the DJ first at Central Lounge, a performance of equal caliber, sans the several hundred dollar ticket.
