Radio Show: Who is Malaa #12
Goodluck trying to skip through this one! Masked musical assassins Malaa are releasing tracks and mixes with the dirtiest sounds at the moment. The latest episode of their radio show "Who is Malaa" is no different with superb picks front to back.
Back on October 28th we were very lucky to catch Malaa + Rezz at Webster Hall for GOTHAM Halloween Weekend. There was only one masked Frenchman up there (we're pretty sure its Sebastian Benett) but he represented the whole group like a boss. Malaa's newest mix is no different than that night, there were a few top picks in the mix.
The first being Dombresky's "Utopia" signed on Tchami's CONFESSION label. This one has a nice soft intro that leads into a thumping drop. You can hear the resemblance of Claude Von Stroke's remix to Rihanna's "Bitch Better Have My Money" in the drops. But the deep basses, clean percs, and other elements add a rhythm and keep you moving nonstop.
The second is "Turn My Music" by Volac & Yara93. A very groovy track that has a nice flow and awesome hi hats. The drop to this one kind of sounds like Shiba San's "Okay", but by anyone's standards that's a good thing. "Turn My Music" is released on Amine Edge & DANCE's CUFF Label. You can go and grab it on Beatport now!
Our Third and final pick would definitely have to be Tchami & Malaa's "Prophecy" for having the catchiest drop. We have seen even people outside of the dance music scene go crazy to this song first hand. The soft pads and pitched vocals create great ambiance for the drums and basses to take over and move the dance floor. We know you will love this mix all the way through. Enjoy!
