Calvin Harris Teams Up With Migos & Frank Ocean For New Single
“This is What You Came For” producer, Calvin Harris, is “good vibes” personified this week, an assertion solidified by several tweets recently posted to the Scottish DJ’s Twitter account. Currently involved in the construction of what Harris calls “joyful music,” in an effort to answer to a supposed lack of such "joyful music" in the world, the chart smashing DJ/producer radiates enthusiasm and positivity as he references the creative process behind forthcoming single, “Slide,” an track that will couple the verses of “Bad and Boujee” hip hop trio, Migos, with the infamously smooth vocals of “Channel Orange” tastemaker, Frank Ocean.
“I worked with the greatest artists of our generation !!!” Harris exclaims, “I’m in the mixing stage now. I listen back and can’t believe what we created !!!!!” With the exclamation point the vehicle of expression for the overwhelming sense of excitement felt by Harris—notably one that would exceed Twitter’s restrictive 140-character limit—the declaration from Harris, one of the top grossing DJs in the dance music sphere, and accordingly, one of the most critical of his own productions, signifies that Harris is hanging onto a masterpiece.
Credits for “Slide” have been released, in addition to the song’s artwork, a tasteful and clean pairing of white background to palm tree bedecked photograph. Given Harris’s advertisement of both official elements of the single mere hours ago on his Twitter account, it seems reasonable to infer that the single will be dropping at some point this week. And if it doesn’t? We’re not entirely sure we’ll be able to let further heightening of our anticipation “Slide.”
