Mysteryland USA is Indeed Cancelled...
Mystery no more.
Earlier in the week, the focus of the dance music community was momentarily diverted from Coachella weekend one anticipation to speculation that the 1969 Woodstock grounds hosted festival, Mysteryland USA, would be cancelled before its 2017 edition could even premiere across June 9th-12th.
The rumor that the festival would not return to upstate New York was rooted in booked artists’ removal of their respective performance dates from their tour calendars on their websites. Ekali even revealed in a Reddit post that Mysteryland had already been cancelled, the public not yet informed. A representative from EDM news source, Dancing Astronaut, contacted a festival “source,” who “speaking on the condition of anonymity—confirmed that Mysteryland has been cancelled for 2017.”
The festival will be following in the footsteps of Insomiac branch, Electric Daisy Carnival, New York, likewise cancelled for the 2017 festival season. Mysteryland, according to intel received by Dancing Astronaut, is expected to release official news of the festival's cancellation this weekend, but will likely not disclose the reason for the cancellation.
