Diplo Signs Modeling Contract, Breaks into New Industry

The next time you catch a glimpse of Diplo, there’s a chance it might not be on the decks, but on a billboard.

The Grammy award winning DJ and producer has broken into an industry separate from the music industry, modeling, the introduction to the physique focused scene engendered by Next Management, WWD, the company to officially sign the Major Lazer constituent. Next Management is notable for its management of Kate Upton, and Anna Cleveland.

Next Management founder, Faith Kates commented on Diplo’s recent contract, “We, at Next Management, have a huge appreciation for those who use their gifts to affect culture in a positive way…As fashion is representative of the collision of all pop cultures, we are…confident that Diplo’s insight into culture and [his] prowess in music will resonate with brands.”

As Diplo readies himself to be aligned among the likes of Sports Illustrated cover girls and Victoria’s Secret lingerie models, he remarks “I want to explore a new world of creativity and am thrilled to sign with Next Management who understand what I represent and where I want to be,” in a recent statement. The cherry on top? “Plus, I’ve just always wanted to be a supermodel,” he muses. It seems dreams really do come true.
