Lil Yachty Announces Album Drop Date, Will Collab With Diplo Thereon

You know Lil Yachty from D.R.A.M.’s Grammy nominated song, “Broccoli,” yet thanks to one of the Georgia native’s latest tweets, Lil Yachty is primed to make another musical association, with industry heavyweight, Diplo.

“To my true fans, there is no more confusion,” Yachty wrote yesterday, “My album drops May 26. This is the cover and the tracklist. Embrace The Youth. 5.26.17” The twenty-track album set to drop next week notably also features Georgia based rap trio, Migos.

Diplo’s billing on a Lil Yachty track, “Forever Young,” will prove to be a point of aesthetic interest, presumably merging the genres of hip hop and electronic dance music for what may very well become one of the most popular hits of the oncoming summer season. Being that Diplo has worked with a variety of artists spanning several genres—i.e. Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, and Usher are examples—to produce music outside the realm of dance music, it’s also fair to assert that Forever Young might not be a dance music influenced track, but only time will tell.
