Kygo & Selena Just Might Be Working on The Festival Anthem of 2017

The name “Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll” at first glance might not ring any bells of recognition: but type that name into a Google search, and the unmistakably Norwegian name will engender an understanding that develops to the chords of “Firestone.” Those well versed in all things Kygo won’t need a search engine’s assistance to recognize the tropical house DJ’s biological name, and accordingly, noted an interesting development in a song newly registered to the ASCAP by pop goddess, Selena Gomez.

An acronym for “The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers,” ASCAP is a non-profit organization that protects artists’ musical copyrights and collects royalties for copyrighted material. Gomez’s registration of a new song in the ASCAP register is standard protocol, but the name that appears below hers in the “Writers” category— Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll— is a suggestion to a new collaboration between Selena Gomez and Kygo.

The image, tweeted out by an unverified Twitter account, @pollspollspolls, has not been confirmed by either the Gomez or Kygo camp as having any veracity, yet the image appears legitimate, despite its materialization on what may be called a “random” Twitter account. If Gomez and Kygo are indeed at work on a single, that project will surely surface as the anthem of the 2017 festival season, and if pressed to name a "more iconic" musical collab after that, we're not sure we could.
