So That deadmau5/Insomniac Relationship is Already Tumultuous...

Days ago when deadmau5 announced that he would be partnering with event industry giant, Insomniac, to produce “Mau5trap,” an April 29th warehouse takeover at Insomniac’s Factory 93 venue in Los Angeles, several parties were surprised, and understandably so: the event’s billing would mark the first joint deadmau5/Insomniac affair in five years.

The news of Mau5trap led many to question whether the warehouse domination would foreshadow future collaborations with the event organizer, an inquiry that seems to have found its answer in a short exchange between the dance music producer and the Insomniac’s founder, Pasqualle Rotella.

An electronic dance music focused Twitter account, “So Cal EDM Events,” noted the surprise of the deadmau5/Insomniac pairing: “If @PasqualeRotella & @deadmau5 can come together once again, maybe Pasquale can convince #DaftPunk to play @EDC_LasVegas?” The “lots of shows in a row” spearhead responded in his characteristic snarky tone, “Since when we’re event promoters such f*cking superstars? I’m coming for the fans. Period.” Let it be known that deadmau5 won’t be appearing on behalf of a new forged friendship with the company’s mastermind.

Pasquale’s response? The classic grammatical curve.
