Calvin Harris Set to Blend Genres Again Via Forthcoming Release, "Heatstroke"
A track that collaboration dreams are made of, Calvin Harris’s Frank Ocean and Migos feature, “Slide,” has dominated both charts and radio air waves since its release weeks ago. As Harris shared a video exposing the creative process behind the song’s crafting, an intricate marriage of various chords and instruments, the DJ was hard at work behind the scenes on another song that will seek to merge musical genres with the same effortless quality that Slide does.
The new track, called “Heatstroke,” will feature verses by Young Thug, vocals from Ariana Grande, and assumedly also from Pharrel Williams who is also credited on the song’s artwork and credits, both of which were posted to Harris’s Twitter account 22 hours ago in much the same way those for Slide were. While Harris has not confirmed a release date for the song, it’s fair to assert that the latest Harris product will drop sooner than later given its advertisement on Twitter. The song emerges as yet another promised project from Harris who proclaimed his commitment to make music in 2017 “sonically designed to make you feel f*cking incredible.” He didn’t let us down with Slide, so it’s doubtful that Heatstroke will do anything less than wow.
