HARD Summer Reveals Date, Location, for 10th Anniversary
Originally conceived in 2007, the Hard Summer festival, a derivative of Gary Richards’s nationally known “Hard” brand, is poised to celebrate its tenth anniversary with stability, the festival having locked in the Fontana Speedway in Southern California for its August 5th and 6th return.
It has hardly been a secret that the festival has struggled to find a permanent host; over the past nine years, the festival has been held at six different venues, the consequence of the festival’s rapid growth over the years as many dance music fans have demonstrated an increased interest in attending the festival, but additionally the result of several drug related deaths of attendees that at one prior point, caused the festival’s rescheduling to rest in uncertainty.
Despite the adversity that the festival has encountered in previous years, Hard Summer will carry on to see its tenth birthday, an event that has yet to release its lineup. The Hard Summer label has been notorious for its procurement of top artists in past years, with the 2016 lineup including the likes of Ice Cube, Major Lazer, Tchami, Madeon, Claude VonStroke, and others. The lineup reveal for the festival’s 10th can only be expected to surpass the quality of previous years’ lineups given the milestone reached by the festival this August.
