Gorillaz Announce North American Dates For 2017 Humanz Tour
Newly active after a considerable hiatus, British virtual band, the Gorillaz, have allowed the past month to speak to the group’s renewed musical dedication through a number of recent projects, including the production of an animated ten-episode television series focused on the band’s development. The forthcoming TV chronicle has been flanked by the news of “Humanz,” the fifth studio album—notably a twenty-six-track endeavor—set to drop under the Gorillaz umbrella on April 28th.
Back in March, the Gorillaz garnered peak levels of attention for their announcement of their first North American performance in seven years, an appearance at the Quebec based festival, “Festival d’eté de Québec” on July 15th. Fast forward to April, and the Gorillaz seem intent on re-familiarizing themselves in the North American musical climate, revealing sixteen additional North American dates that will constitute the North American leg of the band’s Humanz tour.
The leg will kick off on Saturday, July 8th in Chicago, and is expected to cross through Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, Columbia, New York, St. Paul, and a variety of other major U.S. cities before the tour completes on Sunday, October 14th in Miami. Tickets to the North American initiative go on sale on Friday, April 21st.
