Spring Awakening Reveals 2017 Lineup and it's Stacked
Chicago’s Spring Awakening revealed phase one of its lineup for the June 9th-11th music festival a day ago, a phase one of a caliber that almost warrants a phase two follow up unnecessary—almost.
Hosted at Addams/Medill Park—having moved from Soldier Field, where the festival occurred during the years of 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015—Spring Awakening has cultivated a reputation for boasting lineups of powerhouse performers, and in accordance with the Illinois based festival’s prestige, the festival’s 2016 lineup likewise bore some of the biggest names in mainstream EDM, including Zedd, Eric Prydz, Hardwell, Tiesto, Diplo, and Afrojack as the festival’s headliners. Zeds Dead, Excision, Dada Life, Flosstradamus, Borgore, and Yellow Claw could be found as some of the festival’s supporting acts, the complete lineup rife with dance music heavy hitters.
Spring Awakening’s 2017 lineup follows in the tradition of the festival’s history of impressive lineups, as evidenced by the festival’s newly released phase one. Afrojack, Alesso, Armin Van Buuren, Axwell & Ingrosso, Diplo, Jauz, Marshmello, Martin Garrix, Yellow Claw, Datsik, Galantis, ZHU, and Excision—among others—grace the festival’s initial phase, prompting the question as to who could potentially be on the festival’s second phase, the first a compilation of some of the most prominent DJs in dance music today.
Tickets to the June festival are currently on sale, with 3-day GA passes on sale for $169 plus tax, and VIP 3-day VIP passes on sale for $269 plus tax. Payment plans for each pass option are also available.
Unlike most festivals that reveal their lineups in a series of phases, we won’t be waiting with eager anticipation for Spring Awakening to reveal the second phase of its lineup, the first already surpassing expectation.
