Paul Van Dyke Will Headline Insomniac's 2017 Edition of "Dreamstate" Festival
To headline the 2017 edition of Insomniac’s Dreamstate festival might have appeared strictly that, a dream, last year for trance staple, Paul Van Dyke, when the producer fell off the stage during an ASOT performance in the Netherlands back in February. The accident would subject Van Dyke to a prolonged recovery process in which not even doctors could be sure that the DJ’s organs would continue to function, Van Dyke having suffered serious spinal and brain damage as products of his fall.
Yet in a turn of events that is best described as “miraculous,” Paul Van Dyke overcame his critical injuries to return to the dance music scene with renewed energy and enthusiasm, a spirit embodied in Van Dyke’s recent announcement as the 2017 Dreamstate mainstay, beginning Thursday, April 27th in Boston, and concluding on Saturday, May 27th in San Francisco. Dream state, a play on the title "A State of Trance (ASOT)," is notably the only all trance festival, an event that since its 2015 conception—a year in which the affair sold out in a short four-hours, attracting 11,000 trance fans—has remained wildly popular despite its catering to a specific musical niche.
The twelve-date third anniversary of Dreamstate will span twelve dates, calling on the talents of Alex M.O.R.P.H., Vini Vici, HeatBeat, and Solarstone.
Tickets to the event—what very well may be considered Paul Van Dyke’s comeback—are currently on sale, available for each date of the tour below.
