Dillon Francis is Holding Out on Us!
Maybe it's DJ Hanzel, maybe it's Preston, it might even be Dillon, but one of the "Bruk Bruk" producer's alter egos is refusing to take us "one deeper."
If ever a social media fiend existed, it would be Dillon Francis, whose activity on social media is perhaps as celebrated as his merging of moombahton/electro house/trap styles in his music. Francis's witty sense of humor is a comicality known to extend to his Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, even to his website, where for $500, interested fans can buy a plain cardboard box titled the "Dillon Francis Box," or alternatively, big spenders might splurge and spend $7,500 in exchange for Francis to assemble their IKEA bed. (If only that deal included the Swedish meatballs with it!)
While Francis allows his humor to run rampant on his various social media platforms, he saves the horsing around for the time spent outside of the studio, as evidenced by—ironically—a statement made on Francis’s Twitter account. In response to a fan who asked Francis how many unreleased tracks he has in his inventory, Francis replied that he has more than 35+ unreleased demos since January 1st. Being that only twenty-five days have passed since January 1st, Francis has been producing at a rapid rate.
Will we ever get to hear the demos? Only time, and Dillon Francis it seems, may tell. But given Francis’s clear commitment to the engineering of his dance music ideas, perhaps a Dillon Francis EP is not far off—Francis’s last mixtape, “This Mixtape is Fire” notably premiered on June 28, 2015.
Until one of these unreleased demos elevates to become the next Dillon Francis single, Francis fans may occupy themselves with Dillon’s now infamous commentary on ABC show, The Bachelor.
