Eric Prydz & deadmau5 Announce Two New b2b Performances
A duo as classic as PB&J, Eric Prydz and deadmau5 are a b2b combo that we—like just about everyone else—wish would be a package deal more often. The pair is slated to return to London’s Creamfields’ Steel Yard in August, a followup to their European appearance the year prior.
It’s needless to say that the performance will be of limited edition caliber, each Prydz/deadmau5 b2b as unique in quality as the collaboration is relatively rare. Yet 2017 seems to be the year of expansion for the iconic b2b duo, with a Sunday closure to New York’s Electric Zoo Festival led by none other than the “Opus” and “Strobe” producers.
Weeks ago, Eric Prydz reached yet another career milestone via the solidification of his first residency, localized in Ibiza’s Hï nightclub, the newly renovated and reopened spot previously known as Space. The revamped club, set to open on May 28th, will feature the Swedish DJ live each Tuesday evening, beginning June 20th and extending ten weeks from that inaugural show date. Prydz will appear under all aliases, meaning that attendees can expect to hear Pryda and Cirez D branded tracks in addition to Prydz’s already extensive musical library.
The luster of the Prydz residency has only augmented as of late, with two b2b Prydz/deadmau5 performances newly scheduled at the Ibiza hotspot. The collaborative appearances will take place on July 18th and August 22nd respectively, the shows materializing as special events— “two exclusive Tuesdays”— to be held during the duration of Prydz’s residency. While the duo will perhaps never be a ubiquitous billing, their prevalence among dance music lineups and nightclub bookings is becoming increasingly prevalent, a positive portent for the 2017 festival season.
