Coachella's Confirmed: Artists to Perform at the 2017 Festival
Coachella has long attracted A-list celebs— for fifteen years to be exact, but who’s counting?— to set boho fashion trends at its home at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Known formally by its full name, the “Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival,” the 2016 edition of the festival welcomed Guns N’ Roses, LCD Soundsystem, and Calvin Harris as its principal headliners. Following another trend, namely the one weekend to two weekend festival expansion, Coachella opening weekend fell on April 15-17th, while the festival’s second weekend was held on April 22-24th. Coachella made waves in musical headlines that year, and not surprisingly so. The festival featured a Guns N’ Roses reunion, where the band performed together for the first time since 1993. The festival also played host to various Prince tributes for the beloved musician who passed on April 21, 2016.
Coachella prepares to release its 2017 lineup in the next coming weeks, but the two week expected lineup drop time does not come soon enough for eager fans who have resorted to speculation on the official Coachella forums page. Despite their conjectures, fans must maintain some semblance of patience as they wait to discover whether their artist/DJ appearance predictions were indeed correct. In anticipation of the festival’s lineup announcement, we have a list of artists confirmed to appear at the festival in 2017, and those likely to perform. Although both lists are subject to change—although one more probable to adjustments than the other—the potential for changes/artist cancellations is omnipresent. The festival will begin on the weekend of April 14-16th, 2017 and conclude after its second weekend on April 21-23rd, 2017.
