Bassnectar Announces Details for Bass Center 2017
The 10th anniversary of Bassnectar’s Bass Center event will have a sweet tooth.
The three-day affair, slated to occur from September 1st-3rd was formally announced by Bassnectar yesterday, when the “Speakerbox” took to his social media platforms to unveil the location of the 2017 festival, along with details concerning the event’s theme and ticket purchase procedure.
Titled “Bass Center: The Mothership is our Chocolate Factory,” the early September event receives a thematic chocolate guild in its link to Willy Wonka. Hosted by the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia, the festival seeks to “connect bass heads from all over the country,” offering bass enthusiasts a variety of ways by which to bond, including yoga, massage therapists, and an interactive gift altar offered by “The Haven,” just one of the various spaces “to roam” offered by the festival. The Haven is joined in existence by “The Lot,” an “enhanced gathering space” outside the Coliseum venue complete with “renegade sound systems, a pop-up arts & crafts fair, and guest performances.”
The headliner of the three-day event, Bassnectar will play each evening of the festival, yet has curated top talent to join him on each of the three days. Friday, September 1st will feature the talent of Cashmere Cat, Clozee, and Shlump, Saturday, September 2nd boasts Dan Deacon, Tsuruda, and Son of Kick, while the festival’s Sunday finale calls on Mr. Carmack, Bleep Boop, and Charlesthefirst.
As with each Bassnectar branded event, tickets to 10th edition of Bass Center are expected to sell quickly, the rapidiy of their sale predicted by that of the presale tickets released for Bassnectar’s recently announced “Basslantic City” event in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in April. In an effort to make the competition for presale tickets an increasingly fair process, a draw will be held. Everyone interested in attending is welcome to enter the draw, the winners of which will be selected at random. Registration for the presale draw begins on Wednesday, March 8th at 12 PM, and will conclude on Monday, March 13th at 6 PM. Those planning to enter may only enter the draw once, and should be prepared to supply their billing info upon entry. The cards of those selected by chance will automatically be charged, a confirmation of purchase email set to follow the card charge. The results of the draw will be announced on Wednesday, March 15th, when card holders can expect to witness a charge on their statements if chosen by the ticket lottery system.
General tickets to the event will become available on Friday, March 17th at 12 PM, although in a notably limited quality. VIP tickets and travel packages will likewise go on sale earlier, debuting at 12 PM for purchase on Wednesday, March 8th.
Perhaps the most exclusive event to be hosted by Bassnectar given the spacial limitations of the Virginia venue, the 10th annual Bass Center event is not one to be slept on; the one that snoozes in this case is surely the one who loses.
