Shambhala on brink of evacuation
Shambhala knows how to keep things hot.
The festival currently sits on the brink of evacuation, according to attendees at the Canadian festival. A nearby wildfire showed the potential to spread to the festival grounds prior to the festival's initiation today, yet mere possibility became imminent threat as the rapid spreading fire grew in its range, crossing the Salmo river. Highway 6 was consequently closed, and Nelway, BC began to evacuate along the border of Canada and the US.
As the surrounding smoke clouds grow thicker, Shambhala may very well shut down until the fire can be tempered or extinguished. For now, the festival has issued an update on Instagram informing ticket holders that the festival will continue.
