Billboard manually removes "Closer" from Hot 100 list

In a move that some will call protocol, and others unnecessary, Billboard has removed The Chainsmokers' Halsey hit, "Closer," from its Hot 100 chart, where the song rested at #39 prior to its expulsion.

The single has reportedly been manually removed by Billboard to allow new music to circulate the chart. According to a Billboard rule, a song will be removed from the chart if it falls out of the range of the top 25 after a 52-week period.
