Skeletal Remains Found Half a Mile From Firefly Music Festival Main Entrance
The conclusion of Dover, Delaware’s Firefly Music Festival would prove unusually eerie this year as the festival wrapped up its sixth year of production. Campers were startled to hear that the Delaware State Police were investigating a discovery of human skeletal remains near the festival, the investigation prompted by a festival attendee coming across the human remains in a wooden area close to festival grounds.
The body was discovered on Thursday evening at approximately 7 PM, half a mile from the festival’s main entrance at Dover International Speedway. Firefly Music Festival failed to advise attendees of the police activity, leaving many attendees surprised to receive the news. The remains are presumed to have been in the area for a considerable amount of time, given their skeletal state. Delaware’s Division of Forensic Science team will be assisting state police in the investigation as it unfolds. The discovery is not believed to be related to the music festival in any respect other than mere proximity.
