Justice lets slip that David Guetta produces "really, really good music" under aliases
In an industry in which multiple artists work under aliases—think Dotcom/Marshmello, Prydz’s Pryda/Cirez D etc.—the news that a dominant DJ has an alter ego doesn’t exactly arrive as a surprise. Yet the revelation that a specific producer has an unknown alias can bear a little more shock value.
Gaspard Auge and Xavier De Rosnay of Justice sat down with CSTAR for an interview that would unintentionally attract “2U” collaborator, David Guetta, some attention for a bombshell dropped therein. De Rosnay seems to have outed Guetta, commenting “Guetta made a strange choice releasing really, really good music under fake names,” when asked to choose the better entity when able to choose between Vitalic and Guetta.
That David Guetta, one of dance music’s most integral identities has worked under different aliases isn’t exactly bewildering given the profundity of multiple aliases within the industry, but it does make us wonder just under what names Guetta has been producing under. Let the hunt begin, no doubt to be spearheaded by the more devoted Guetta enthusiasts.
