Rumor Has It Elon Musk is Starting a Music Streaming Service
Mention of the name “Elon Musk” will produce an association with Tesla, manufacturer of the premium electric sedans and SUVs, and founded by Musk. Musk’s establishment of the Tesla brand demonstrates an acute understanding of, and involvement with the auto industry, but don’t limit Musk just to that. Rumor has it that the businessman is setting his sights on the music industry, with the intent to license and debut a music streaming service.
Comparable to Pandora, the streaming service will directly compete with already existing streaming services like Spotify, a platform that currently possesses 50 million subscribers. Pricing will vary, organized in a tier system.
That Musk is interested in forming a music streaming service aligns with his role in car design; Tesla buyers—and drivers of all other makes and models alike—could utilize the service while driving, the service having the potential even to be offered with the new purchase of a Tesla once released.
